Michael Trew– Churchwarden

I first came to St Edward’s in spring 2016 after being introduced by Pippa. Our wonderful church is now somewhere she refers to as ‘my happy place’. I was born in Hillingdon (not far from Heathrow) but lived most of my younger life in Hertfordshire. I’ve spent most of my working life in the bus industry, initially as a bus driver but then in other office-based roles. I moved to Yorkshire with my job in May 2005. I have three children Lucie, Sam and Mills  and a granddaughter.

Around St Ed’s I have a number of roles – I’m on the screen team for hymn words at the 10am service, I’m Sacristan on alternate months to Isobel, I’m on the Premises Committee and was previously on the PCC, prior to being appointed Churchwarden.

12th February 2022 was a wonderful lifelong memory – my wedding day with Pippa. St Ed’s was the only place in the world we’d have had it, surrounded by family, friends and congregation, which is why it took us four attempts due to the pandemic.
