Weddings

Congratulations on your plans to get married! This is a fantastic time of excitement and expectation, and we would love to help you celebrate your new life together.

Today, more than a quarter of all marriages in England, take place in the traditional setting of a Church of England church. You’re welcome to marry in church whatever your beliefs, whether or not you are baptised and whether or not you go to church.

A Church of England Marriage Service provides the words to express our love for one another, and our commitment to live out that life of love well. In the service, we will pray for God’s blessing for you, asking God to help you live out the amazing promises that you will be making. There is also the opportunity for family and friends to pledge their support to you as you step out on the awesome adventure that is married life.

As marriage is also a legal commitment, you need to have a Qualifying Connection to get married in a particular Church. To find out what the possibilities are for you, please visit:

To enquire about getting married here at St Edward’s, please contact the Parish Office on 01904 709111, and one of our Clergy team will then meet with you to discuss your plans.

We look forward to helping you celebrate your special day, and pray that you will enjoy a lifetime of love, lived well together.

The clergy at St Edward’s will guide you through the service.  The Director of Music is available to discuss hymns,  music and the option of a choir.  We  also have a team of experienced flower arrangers who regularly arrange flowers in our beautiful building.
