Hello!
My name is Debbie Long and I have just joined the team here at St Edward’s as Assistant Curate.
I am married to Graham with four grown up children and live just up the road from the church.
I was born in Lincolnshire where my family are farmers, but moved around a lot as a child with my father’s work. – the beautiful North Yorkshire Coast, Durham city, and then Barnard Castle ….
I travelled round the world for two years when I was younger, but there’s nowhere more gorgeous than Yorkshire! I love living in York, what a fabulous city it is for so many reasons. I love sport of all kinds, especially football and cricket – and have had a season ticket for Newcastle United for 20 years.
I remember my first church when I was a small child in Durham, being a place of such warmth and welcome – and joy! – a place and space to connect with each other and with God. This is exactly what St Edward’s is like; it’s been like coming home for me – so come and see us too – you are so welcome at any of our groups or services, the kettle is always on!
