Richard Carew – Vicar

My name is Richard Carew, and I have been Vicar here at St Edward’s since June 2018. This is a great community to be a part of, and I know that you will find a warm welcome here, whether you are looking to find out a little more what this ‘God thing’ is all about, or whether you have been a Christian for many years.

I was born in Zimbabwe before moving to England at the age of eight. Having studied History at York I spent six years teaching in a secondary school before going to Durham to train for ordination, something that I never expected to happen to me.  I am married with four children, and although the ageing process will only allow me to continue playing the occasional game of cricket, I remain a keen watcher of most sports.

I long to see more of God at work here, and in our local community, and I look forward to welcoming you to St Edward’s.
