Day 2

Isaiah 40: 3-5 

A voice cries out:
‘In the wilderness prepare the way of the Lord,
   make straight in the desert a highway for our God.
Every valley shall be lifted up,
   and every mountain and hill be made low;
the uneven ground shall become level,
   and the rough places a plain.
Then the glory of the Lord shall be revealed,
   and all people shall see it together.

Make Way

As we journey through Advent, we wait in anticipation of these words from Isaiah when “the glory of the Lord shall be revealed”. But more than that, we hope for the day when “all people shall see it together”.

At this time of year, when the story of Jesus’ birth is everywhere; on cards; on calendars; on billboards; on television, let us be courageous – be a voice that cries out and helps all people to prepare the way for the glory of the Lord.
